A fire is something that we all want when we are camping. Even if the days are hot, there is just something about having a fire at night that is an integral part of camping and causes us all to go about piling sticks up and putting a flame to them.
But have you ever tried to find firewood around a designated camp ground, about the only wood you can find to burn is what you buy from the Host at the camp ground. Well if you are camping in a pine forested area and have a Flibitygiget you will find a wealth of firewood waiting for you to pick. No, it won’t be laying on the ground because all the campers before you have gathered it for their fire and if you do find some there it is probably wet from a previous rain.
Instead look up into the pine trees at all the dead branches that are out of reach, extend your Flibitygiget pole, place the yoke under and push up on one of those branches from an angle, you now have your first piece of firewood. You can collect a nice pile of this flammable bounty in just a few minutes.
Also, remember that when it is raining, the wood found still on the tree will be drier than that which is on the ground.
There is a video on the In action Video page showing how it works.
NOTE:
The further you extend your pole the weaker it gets, try not to extend beyond 2/3 of it length.
Watch out for the falling branches.
Not recommended for branches larger than 1-1/2” in diameter.
Use only on dead branches.
We have not tried this on any trees other than pine. The dead branches are extremely brittle and snap easily.
